Whether you are seeking to work with people or animals a taster afternoon is a wonderful place to start, however it is not compulsory, but it will give you a feel for the therapy and what is involved in order to learn the ancient art of shiatsu or Reiki.

On a taster afternoon you will learn how to use your hands, how to apply the technique and more so how to apply the correct pressure with shiatsu and correct energy flow with Reiki to release stresses, strains, aches and pains.

During the afternoon you will learn how to work on the back area, so not only will you learn a life changing technique, you will also get the opportunity to have your back treated as well. Having completed the taster afternoon all students are required to enrol onto i-atsu 3 day Level One course or Reiki First Degree to further their studies.

There is no taster afternoon in my area or for some time, but I am keen to get going. Where can I go to get started?

If there is not a taster afternoon for some time and you do have 6 or more people who would like to join a class then we are able to come to you, please ring the office on 01547 530871 to check availability and arrange a date and time to suit everyone.

You may also enrol straight onto the i-atsu 3 day Level One course or the Reiki First Degree, then from there work your way through the curriculum, or you may choose to join a theory class (where NON shiatsu/Reiki students may also attend) and then go onto join an i-atsu 3 day Level one course or Reiki First Degree at the next available date.

This course will also give you the opportunity to decide whether this is a technique/therapy that you are happy to work with but more so would enable you to make a career change to join the field of complementary therapy for people and animals. If you are wishing to work with horses or dogs this course is a prior requirement as it will prepare you and your body for the animal work to follow, it will also teach you how to use your hands in order to apply a variety of techniques that you will require upon reaching the shi-animal-atsu courses for horses and dogs and the Reiki for people and animals.
